In Spain, sangria isn't fruit salad. This is a typical Spanish recipe (though in Spain, lemon juice might take the place of lime).
Notes
Use Rioja crianza or other young Spanish red wine. Blueberries or stemmed and quartered strawberries are optional.
Ingredients
- 2 Valencia oranges
- 1 Dash of juice of full lime
- 1/2 Cup blueberries or stemmed and quartered strawberries (optional)
- 1/4 Cup superfine sugar
- 3 Liters Rioja crianza
- 3/4 Cups Spanish brandy
- 1/4 Cup triple sec
